Kimora Lee Simmons is one of the most successful fashion moguls in the world, and the former wife of music industry icon Russell Simmons. She’s a model, entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, venture capitalist and TV personality. She’s also a mother of three children.

Known for her flamboyant style, she’s been a part of the fashion world since she was a teen. She is the founder of her own line, Baby Phat and has starred in reality television shows. She is also the author of numerous books including her critically acclaimed book, The Power of the Girl.

She was born on May 4, 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri and was raised by her parents. She is African-American on her father’s side and Japanese-Korean on her mother’s side.

Her career started at age 13 when she first tried modeling on the runway. She was later discovered by Marie-Christine Kollock, who represented her at a modeling search event in Kansas City. She soon found favor with fashion industry leaders and began her modeling career in earnest.

Although she was young, she had an extensive career and traveled around the world. She worked for various fashion houses and brands including CHANEL, Dior, and Tommy Hilfiger. She also starred in the popular TV show, “Life in the Fab Lane” for two years.

While her life as a model was glamorous, she also struggled with esteem issues. She was often bullied and felt like she didn’t fit in with her classmates. Eventually, she decided to take modeling classes in an effort to boost her confidence.

As a result, she went on to become a successful model and actress, appearing in many different films and television shows including For Love or Money and Beauty Shop. She also modeled for OK Magazine.

Her career was not without pitfalls, however, and she suffered from extreme body dysmorphia that left her unable to maintain a perfect body. She later underwent plastic surgery to change her body shape.

Despite this, her success in the modeling industry was still significant and she was even offered her own line of clothing. She eventually left her husband and moved to Los Angeles, where she opened a studio called Baby Phat.

She also launched a fashion collection, which was sold out in a matter of weeks. She relaunched Baby Phat in 2019 and has recently expanded into the beauty space. She now helms Baby Phat Beauty alongside her two daughters, Ming and Aoki.

The brand’s latest products include shimmering lip glosses, illuminating body sprays and body lotion in three scents inspired by her and her daughters. The scents are reminiscent of the ’90s and she hopes to cash in on this nostalgia by tapping into our current ’90s obsession.

While pursuing her modeling career, she attended Harvard University, where she earned a degree in computer science. But according to her TikTok, her professors have been disrespecting her and refusing to allow her to work on modeling projects.
