The Album Review of Conan Gray’s “Superache”
Conan Gray’s new album “Superache” is a fantastic record. It contains a number of memorable songs. For instance, the “Death Wish” song has a rock element to it. The catchy pop track is more likely to lift you up than bring you down. In addition, the title track traces back to gray’s roots, or at least a part of his roots.
While many artists write about love, Gray takes a different approach. He explores the concept through a series of painful memories. At times, this is a good thing, as it allows him to connect with his feelings. However, there are other times when he sings about staying in memories with people he doesn’t care for.
One of the most heart-breaking songs on the record is “Family Line,” a song which traces back to Gray’s traumatic childhood. It describes how he had to hide his feelings as a kid in order to protect himself. His parents would fight back and forth without realizing how their behavior was hurting their child.
As a result, he developed abandonment issues. But he also learned the value of telling the truth. Like his mother, he caught onto the fact that he was lying. This, of course, made him a better person.
Another noteworthy song on the album is “Best Friend,” a simple and lighthearted tune. The lyrics relate to Gray’s best friend. Though this isn’t the most moving track, it is still a nice break from the more heavy-hearted tracks.
Gray’s most notable song is probably “Superache,” a song which demonstrates his skill as a musician. It’s not just a catchy upbeat pop track; it’s one of the most eloquent collections of emotion. Throughout the song, Gray explains his fear of intimacy, and his apprehension about love. By the end of the song, he’s able to admit that he hasn’t been quite as bad as his former abuser.
A final song on the album is “Memories,” which is a musical song with a bit of a rock twist. It’s the last track, but it’s also the least heartbreaking on the record. During its musical passage, Gray tells the story of a summer kid, who was too afraid to let his emotions out. The song starts out as a typical musical piece, but it soon turns into a sultry rock number.
As far as the album as a whole goes, the best songs are “Superache” and “Family Line.” Both are well-written, and have a lot to offer. There’s something for everyone. And the album as a whole is an experience, not just a collection of songs.
Lastly, Gray’s debut album is a testament to his talent. From his first song, Movies, to his debut single, Idle Town, the album contains several standout songs. Whether you’re a die hard fan of his music, or you’re just discovering him, this is an excellent album. Among the aforementioned are “Superache,” “Family Line,” and “Best Friend.” Those are the songs to listen to if you’re looking for an upbeat tune, a sultry ballad, or even just a way to connect with your inner nerd.
