Ariel Winter Shows Off Her Scars at the Screen Actors Guild Awards

Ariel Winter is one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood and she doesn’t hide it. She has become an inspiration to teens everywhere with her body positivity and impeccable fashion sense.

She has become a fan favorite and won multiple awards for her role on Modern Family. Additionally, she can be seen in Phineas and Ferb and Jake and the Never Land Pirates as Marina the Mermaid, providing voiceover narration.

Winter has voiced characters in numerous movies, such as DreamWorks Animation’s Mr. Peabody and Sherman (in which she voiced Penny Peterson). Additionally, she can be heard voice over characters in Disney’s Bambi II and Blue Sky’s Ice Age: The Meltdown.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Ariel Winter exuded confidence in her strapless gown. She proudly displayed the scars from her breast reduction surgery which occurred back in June 2015.

Twitter was abuzz with Ariel’s decision not to cover up her scars, and it appears she isn’t ashamed of them at all. She took to the platform to explain her decision, along with sharing a message of body positivity:

“Embrace all that makes you unique–scars and all. Your flaws make you uniquely YOU, so embrace yourself!”

The 18-year-old actress, who celebrated her 18th birthday this week, looked glamorous and sophisticated in a floor-sweeping Romona Keveza dress. She accessorized with stylish jewelry as well as soft pink blusher and lipstick for an alluring red carpet ensemble.

Winter has earned herself a devoted fan base and multiple awards for her role on Modern Family. A member of the Screen Actors Guild, Winter was recently nominated for a Golden Globe.

She’s best known for her role as Gretchen on Phineas and Ferb, where she voiced Gretchen before landing the regular role of Alex Dunphy on Modern Family. Additionally, she continues to voice Marina the Mermaid on Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates series.

She achieved fame during her time on the show, winning four consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role as Alex Dunphy. Since then, she has continued to work in animation; most recently being cast as Sofia in Disney’s Sofia the First franchise.

At the SAG Awards, 18-year-old Made a bold move by wearing a strapless black gown. However, some photographers were quick to notice her breast reduction scars. But she insisted she wasn’t ashamed of them, declaring: “I love my scars and don’t want to hide them.”
