Who Got Out of Dancing With the Stars?
When Dancing With The Stars returned last week, many fans were wondering who got out of the competition. While the results were not exactly predictable, some of the top names were in the bottom two. These included Coda star Daniel Durant and his dance partner, Britt Stewart. They were eliminated along with another pair, Emma Slater and her partner, Trevor Donovan.
During the show’s final season, “Dancing With The Stars” introduced some big changes. For one, it moved to Disney+ after 16 years on ABC. It also eliminated couples for different reasons. There are two ways to be eliminated from the show: by judges’ saves and viewer votes. This season, the stakes were high in the semi-finals. That means a couple has to impress the judges and win the Mirrorball Trophy to stay in the competition. In the end, there was no room for mistakes.
Despite his incredible acting and dancing skills, Coda star Daniel Durant was not saved by the judges. He was one of the first contestants to be eliminated from the competition. His cha-cha and jazz routine were eye-catching, but his scores were not high enough to make a final cut.
Another Coda star, Artem Chigvintsev, was in the bottom two alongside Charli D’Ameli. Their routine was tied for the lowest score of the night. However, Heidi D’Ameli received the judges’ vote to save her.
The judges saved two other contestants in this week’s episode. Head judge Len Goodman saved Teresa Pasha and Cheryl Ladd. But he did not save Jason Lewis. Jason’s footwork was not impressive, and he received a negative vote from judges. Although Jason was still a contender, he was unable to snag a final spot.
Fans were left with questions after a long, hard run on the show. Several contenders scored below the 80 mark, including Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong. And then there was Shangela, who was a drag queen who captivated viewers. Her cha-cha and samba routine was deemed not worthy of a perfect score.
Finally, the third couple to be eliminated from the competition were Shangela and Gleb Savchenko. These two stars were voted off the show in the second half of the episode. Earlier this week, they were paired up with a professional dancer, Koko Iwasaki, to perform a cha-cha. At the end of the night, the audience voted for them to stay, but the judges voted them out.
Last week’s eliminations were a shocker. Viewer votes put them in the bottom three. A couple of judges also saved them, including Derek Hough. Now, he’s a runner-up for the Mirrorball Trophy.
On this final week of the show, the winner is only one step away. Who will be the next Dancing with the Stars contestant? Watch the finale tonight to find out. You can also read Newsweek for the latest information about the 2022 finalists.
