Teresa Giudice Personality Disorder

Teresa Giudice and Her Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Longtime viewers of Real Housewives of New Jersey know Teresa Giudice likes to make waves. Her dramatic outbursts and dramatic antics have not only earned her an audience, but have also attracted critics who question her motives and behavior. One criticism leveled against Teresa is that she acts like an expert gaslighter; someone who manipulates truth by distorting facts so others question their own memories or perceptions of reality.

Gaslighting behavior was on full display during Teresa’s time on RHONJ. For instance, during season four she became embroiled in a bitter feud with Jacqueline Laurita who accused Teresa of spreading gossip about Jacqueline and her family. Teresa then aggressively denied these claims casting doubt upon Jacqueline’s memory essentially calling her out as a liar; an action which tantamount to gaslighting as Teresa attempted to make Jacqueline question her own thoughts and feelings while making Jacqueline question their own experiences and beliefs.

At her recent interview on the Knockin’ Doorz Down podcast, Teresa opened up about her own mental health struggles and encouraged others to seek treatment if necessary. Teresa stressed there is no stigma attached to seeking mental health treatments and mentioned she and her daughters all see a therapist since experiencing extensive trauma quickly.

One thing many don’t realize about Teresa is her diagnosis with narcissistic personality disorder. Narcissistic personality disorder is a serious mental illness in which individuals become excessively self-absorbed and fail to acknowledge how their actions impact others; the condition often results in devastating relationships, careers and even physical health impacts due to its correlation with depression and anxiety.

Teresa has made great strides toward conquering her narcissism and has achieved considerable progress over time. She has started several businesses and enjoys engaging in philanthropy work that makes her happy; in addition, Teresa is a caring mother and wife in a happy marriage to Arturo.

However, Teresa still needs to work on in order to live a balanced and healthy life. First and foremost, she should try being more empathetic by listening carefully before leaping to any conclusions about other people’s viewpoints or using disrespectful or passive-aggressive language when communicating with others. Finally, Teresa needs to get plenty of sleep and take care of her mental health – after going through such trauma as Joe being deported back to Italy and her daughters living without either parent for months at a time, hopefully these changes will enable her to stay on course without further drama arising in future episodes!
