Taraji p henson is an American actress, singer, author and former dancer. She began her career in guest roles on a number of television shows before making her break through in the movie Baby Boy in 2001.

In January 2016, Henson became the first African American woman to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama as well as being nominated for an Emmy Award.
Henson has been very open about her struggle with depression and anxiety throughout her career and it is no surprise that she is an advocate for mental health. She is also very committed to her son, Marcell.
