Blake Lively excelled as Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. Although sometimes manipulative, Blake’s performance as Serena Van Der Woodsen was always stunning – particularly when wearing one of her signature looks! As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, our thoughts turn to all of Serena Van der Woodsen (and Blair Waldorf)’s memorable holiday outfits from “Gossip Girl”. From her seductive black jumpsuit to a stunning backless lace dress – there is plenty of fashion inspiration here.
Gossip Girl was set in New York, so it comes as no surprise that many of its characters were obsessed with fashion. Former Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman noted that neither Blair or Serena repeated any pair of shoes or bags throughout six seasons of filming; each character had such strong signature styles it can be difficult to think of them without also recalling their outfits simultaneously.
Vanderwoods held their annual Thanksgiving gathering with family in style this year. Serena, Blair and Jenny donned formal attire – Blair in an eye-catching floral dress from Jimmy Choo with matching pumps while Serena chose an intricate black dress featuring pleated front panels and black accessories.
Jenny’s style shifted as the series progressed from preppy Constance Billard trends to her own grungy aesthetic, as evidenced by this ensemble from the series finale. With its tartan dress and dark colors that perfectly reflect Jenny’s newly acquired maturity and brooding subject matter.
Serena was always looking to make an impressionful statement on campus as a college student, and this outfit from when she visited Columbia University perfectly showcases that style: gold sequined minidress, low-cut white blouse and denim jacket – an eye-catching combination!
Lily and CeCe insisted Serena arrive at her prom in style. She chose a black and gold Marchesa gown topped off by an exquisite gold tiara, tiny gold earrings, and high heel sandals from Marchesa – an ensemble which had Dan completely bewitched! He couldn’t take his eyes off of Serena!
Serena’s wedding day attire was no less regal or fairy princess-esque than the rest of her wardrobe choices on the series. Her gold outfit was breathtakingly elegant, making any ceremony an eventful and joyous occasion.
