Randy Cover, 69, of Dixon, Ill., Dies at Home

Rita Crundwell’s release from federal prison in Pekin has opened old wounds back up in Dixon. Crundwell stole millions from Dixon during her two decades as comptroller; although local leaders may have recovered some $40 million through legal fees and settlement agreements since her time away, Crundwell left lasting scars that will not easily heal.

Randy Cover was born November 27th 1952 to Ralph and Margaret Cover in Dixon Illinois and survived by his loving wife Connie for 47 years, his two sons Anthony (fiance Malina and grandson Kaiden) of Aledo as well as daughter Andrea (and Landon), his grandpup Tonix, grandkitties Pee-Wee and Gizmo as well as many nieces and nephews.

Retirement from HON Industries gave him time to appreciate nature. An avid fisherman and hunter, especially at his family camp in Nebraska. He enjoyed time spent with family either traveling together to Mexico for vacation or simply at home together. In particular he treasured time spent singing in church choir and participating in Sanctum Bible Study at Aledo Sanctum Bible Study was especially meaningful to him and he was an active member of American Legion as well as having served in US Army he also retired.
