Nitro High School Football

Nitro High School, one of eight public high schools located in Kanawha County School District’s eight public high schools, serves approximately 750 students in grades 9-12. Nitro Wildcats compete as Class AA school in Big 12 Conference competition and in WVHSAA State Football Tournament competition at Nitro.

Nitro Tuggle of South Bend, Indiana’s Class of 2024 stands out with multiple nicknames more often than just his first name – that’s because his playmaking ability makes things happen when he gets the ball. On Monday he proved it again by quickly making up his mind about where to commit: Georgia Bulldogs won out after cutting his top 10 down to just their Dawgs! They now will gain one of the nation’s most exciting playmakers come 2024!

Tuggle caught 38 passes for 571 yards during his junior season and turned 22 of those receptions into touchdowns. Additionally, his speed of 4.49 in the 40 proves his explosiveness on the field.

On Friday night, he’ll have the chance to demonstrate his talents when the Nitro Wildcats host Putnam and Kanawha County rival Poca Dots for their inaugural Par Mar Friday Night Rivals presented by Optimum game of the season. Kickoff begins at 7 p.m.; viewers can stream it live via Stirr or view over-the-air on channels 11.2 (11.2 for Optimum customers; 133.3 for Time Warner Cable customers and 125 for Comcast subscribers).
