Maria Menounos Reveals the Challenges of Motherhood on Her Podcast Gut Feelings

Maria Menounos, 45, is well known as an E! News correspondent and actress but now also mother to an infant daughter named Olivia. On her podcast Gut Feelings she recently discussed some of the challenges associated with motherhood.

Menounos discusses her struggles as a first-time mother when Athena was born, explaining she felt overwhelmed. To ensure everything ran smoothly she sought assistance from friends to make sure she had everything needed for a smooth delivery experience.

Podcast host Sarah Undergaro highlighted the importance of taking time away from work when becoming a new parent, noting how her husband Keven Undergaro was very understanding when she made the decision to step back temporarily and spend more time with their daughter.

Menounos recently opened up about her postpartum depression experience and its effect on her family. When feeling down, it was hard for her to fulfill all her responsibilities as wife and mother.

She explained that what helped her through these trying times were her faith and community support; additionally, she credits her therapist with helping her through them.

Menounos addressed both her postpartum depression and reports of breast cancer. Having been diagnosed in January and undergoing a mastectomy in February, Menounos has since emphasized the need for women to openly discuss their experiences with this disease.

TV personality and journalist Maria is currently taking some much-needed downtime before returning to Conversations with Maria as its host for its second season, or becoming E! News host again sometime later in the fall.

Menounos has garnered an enormous online following with her show covering stylish A-Listers. Recently, Menounos was seen strolling around Los Angeles in an effortlessly chic ensemble; wearing a form-fitting white tank top she complemented it with breezy navy trousers for summery appeal and topped her look off with classic white flip flops and retro hoop earrings to complete her look.

Fans of Love is Blind have long speculated whether or not Maria Menounos and Nick Lachey, born November 9, 1973, are married. Nick first made waves as part of multi-platinum boy band 98 Degrees before appearing in Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica along with former flame Jessica Simpson.

He has also appeared on other shows and hosts his own talk radio program. Maria interviewed him previously and could assess him accurately for Access Hollywood.
