Major League Baseball legend Willie Mays was married to Margherite Wendell Chapman for five years. They lived in San Francisco’s Sherwood Forest neighborhood. While the couple remained together for a long time, rumors abound that their marriage was doomed. A Fort Pearson reporter interviewed Chapman in 1958 to inquire about rumors of a falling out between the couple. These rumors were denied by the actress.
