Lauren Santo Domingo Met Gala 2021

The Met Gala 2021 – Lauren Santo Domingo As Co-Chair

The Met Gala is known as “the Fashion Oscars”, and this year’s theme of “Punk: Chaos to Couture” promises a spectacular sartorial spectacle like no other. Our co-chairs for this year’s event include Lauren Santo Domingo (sartorial royalty!) as she serves as co-chairs. Lauren is often seen attending runway shows and events alongside A-list friends while Moda Operandi caters to pre-ordering looks right off the runway – one of her main roles!

Santo Domingo recently raised millions in investment funds to expand her business and compete with giants such as NET-A-PORTER and Farfetch. Her own label Lauren has grown ever since its conception; today it spans Menswear, Fine Jewelry and home goods as well as Gen Z inspired menswear styles and red carpet correspondent duties for Vogue.

She not only contributed her fashionable attire to the gala but is also an active philanthropist, supporting various charitable organisations including UN Foundation, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Institute and American Ballet Theatre over time. Additionally, her efforts have been recognized with several awards throughout her life.

She enjoys social circles that include high society members such as Tinsley Mortimer from Real Housewives of New York and Julio Mario Santo Domingo (worth an estimated $8 billion in 2011) who were both in Andres’ social circle.

This year’s Gala is entitled “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay of the same name. Its purpose is to challenge traditional interpretations of “camp,” encouraging guests to dress in loud colors with extravagant details that exudes self-indulgence – though some celebrities have chosen not to conform. It has caused some debate as some celebrities choose either not to participate or opt out altogether of wearing clothing fitting the theme.

This year’s Gala will include Honorary Chairs such as Dua Lipa, Roger Federer, Penelope Cruz and Michaela Coel alongside Anna Wintour and Adam Mosseri as Honorary Co-Chairs; Lenny Kravitz will perform during this evening event.
