Kimberly Plake

Kimberly Plake isn’t just a racer. She is also a certified ski instructor and a wilderness coach for Soul2Summit, an outdoor adventure group. Last year, Plake was unable to attend the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals, but she made up for lost time by leading a tour of the Mont Blanc region in France. While she may not be able to race this year, she still manages to enjoy the thrill of adventure.

Plake has been visiting small ski areas since 1991. She shows up in a customised diesel Freightliner, which looks like a badass motorhome. Plake is a passionate enthusiast of off-road vehicles, and even hosts Truck Night in America. Kimberly Plake hangs out with Plake on the green runs, and the two of them have been on out-of-bounds jaunts with the ski patrol.

Kimberly is a well-known face in the ski world. She was once a Texas beauty queen and even a model. Before meeting Glen, she was an avid skier. They were married in 1991, and had two children together. They joined Jonny Moseley in 2010 at the National Ski Hall of Fame. They are both credited with advancing the field of skiing. She is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment through exercise.
