Johnny Depp Newsboy Cap
Johnny Depp is one of Hollywood’s most celebrated and versatile actors. Nominated for an Academy Award and playing various types of characters onstage and screen (such as Jeff Beck), Depp has made waves as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean”, giving audiences a look into pirate life they never saw before.
The actor is well known for his unique fashion sense that has won him international admiration. His distinctive fedoras, trilbies, Akubras and beanies have become iconic symbols.
In the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”, he played one of cinematic history’s most beloved pirates: Captain Jack Sparrow. His iconic tricorn hat has become a hallmark of not only his movie character but the entire franchise as a whole.
He is an avid reader with a large library. This passion has also led him to work as a writer; publishing several of his own books as a result.
Depp finds time for sports, family time and traveling when not acting in movies. Recently he purchased a boat and plans on sailing around the world in it.
Tim Burton’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” marks Daniel Radcliffe’s latest release; here he portrays eccentric candymaker Willy Wonka. At a press conference for this film, Daniel ran through all aspects of production as well as his forthcoming project and revealed that he’d been trying to write again.
His recent art career has also garnered some notice, and the artist recently launched selling limited edition artwork called Friends & Heroes that features people who have inspired him both professionally and personally.
Depp has always been an artist, and his recent success in the art world has shown him the joy of sharing his talent with others. His debut “Friends & Heroes” print features portraits of many of his favorite artists; fans can purchase this limited edition print at a fraction of its original cost.
He’s an avid cyclist, owning his own bicycle. He regularly cycles to the beach or nearby park on it – and has an array of accessories in his collection to add to it!
One of his go-to hat styles is the newsboy cap, and he frequently wears them – as seen here at the BCN Film Festival where he donned one with a herringbone pattern brim.
This newsboy-inspired hat stands out from the competition thanks to its rigid front visor and snap closure in front. Still, this timeless piece will surely turn heads and be sure to turn them upwards.
At the 2016 Grammy Awards, he donned an extra wide brim hat to keep his head cool and wear weathered and worn hats, such as in this photo from that evening at which he pulled an old cowboy hat out from retirement for use during this special evening.
