Jared Padalecki and His Cannon Tattoo Co-Stars Get Inked Together at Their Wedding
While filming the final season of Supernatural, Jared Padalecki got a tattoo that infuriated many fans. His design features an image of a gun with a star above it – insignia associated with pro-gun rights activists’ “Come and take it” motto.
The phrase was first coined during the 1835 Battle of Gonzales, when Texas refused to return a small bronze cannon given to them – an act which ultimately ignited a revolution against Mexican rule in Texas. Though once associated with Texas pride, today it carries with it anti-gun rights sentiment and white supremacism.
Once Padalecki’s tattoo was revealed, people started to raise an uproar about it, accusing him of being anti-Second Amendment and supporting white supremacy. This sparked much anger and outrage among many people – including some of his co-stars.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Sam and Dean Winchester’s father on Supernatural, has been getting tattoos in recent years. His new wife Hilarie Burton recently shared a photo of him alongside other cast members getting inked up together at their wedding reception – not the first time this has happened at one event.
On October 5th, Morgan and his co-stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki got inked up by Brooklyn-based artist Mike Lucena during their wedding, according to Hilarie’s Instagram post. The three former stars developed an intense bond through their time on Supernatural, which evidently continues even after they got inked up during their nuptials.
At Jeffrey’s business, they all got matching tattoos and he even said in the caption that their bond will never fade.
No matter their differences, these three friends are always there for one another. They attend weddings, conventions and get inked up at events together.
These three actors shared an admiration of each other’s work. They’ve been co-starring on the show since its start and have become major parts of each other’s lives ever since.
After Supernatural’s final season concludes this autumn, both Ackles and Padalecki have confirmed they’re joining another show. Ackles will reunite with his Supernatural creator Eric Kripke on Amazon’s The Boys while Padalecki will star in a reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger.
Both shows are excellent and worth watching if you haven’t already. The former has been one of my favorites for quite some time now, and I can’t wait to see how it concludes.
In addition to his role on Supernatural, Padalecki has starred in several movies that are based off of the franchise. He’s best known for playing Sam Winchester on that show – an essential watch if you’re a fan of supernatural fiction.
After the series’ conclusion, Padalecki will bring another project to television from his native Texas: Cordell Walker in The CW’s Walker, Texas Ranger reboot. Additionally, a prequel called Walker: Independence will air this fall on The CW.
