Gigi Hadid Rocks a Givenchy Red Corset Top to the Met Gala
Gigi Hadid made her Met Gala debut wearing an eye-catching Givenchy Haute Couture ensemble at this year’s Met Gala red carpet, wearing an eye-catching strapless corset top topped by a low-rise black skirt featuring feathers complemented with an elaborate black tulle overlay flowing into an eye-catching train. To complete her monochromatic ensemble she accessorised it with three strings of pearls around her neck, sheer gloves and simple stud earrings from Calzedonia tights before finishing it all off with black stilettos topped by black stilettos from Calzedonia tights which complimented perfectly to style her blonde locks into long mermaid waves – she added three strings of pearls around her neck as an additional detail completing this monochromatic look!
Gigi Hadid has become a staple at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual gala celebrating a particular theme each year. Notably, Rachel Weisz donned a red latex two-piece vinyl gown designed by Givenchy to promote her latest film The Favourite at Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony.
Dove Cameron also embraced the ’90s corset trend when promoting her hot new song, “Boyfriend,” on Monday’s episode of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She donned a vintage Givenchy velvet coat featuring black fringe and red mesh accents as part of her outfit, pairing it with dramatic paperbag-waist jeans and jewel-encrusted sheer gloves.
Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy is in her second cycle as creative director and continues to explore after-dark glamour with her collections. Focused largely on suiting (a la Duchess of Sussex and Rachel Weisz), as well as playing with volume; standout pieces included double-breasted jackets featuring deep flounces of crinkled taffeta as well as midnight blue bolero jackets with pouf sleeves inspired by neoprene.
