Disney Celebrates Chinese New Year Ears 2020
In honor of the Year of the Mouse, Disney is planning an exciting Lunar New Year celebration at the Disneyland resort in Southern California. The celebration will run from January 20 to February 15. Some of the festivities include Chinese calligraphy with local artisans and two Asian marketplaces, as well as food and entertainment. It will also feature a special edition of Mickey Mouse and friends that will feature several of the characters, including Chip and Dale, who reprise their roles as little tigers in training.
Merchandise will feature Disney’s traditional red envelope set, plus themed Minnie Mouse ear headbands. There will be bobble-head figures of Chip and Dale, along with other Disney characters, and the items will be inspired by different cultures in East Asia.
Guests will also have the chance to make crafts, including an erhu twirling craft, and a dragon’s pearl coloring craft. In addition to these new items, guests will have the opportunity to write their wishes on a Lucky Wishing Wall. These special events and decorations are intended to bring a sense of authenticity to the experience.
This year, Disney is planning a special event in the Magic Kingdom, called “Mulan’s Processional.” Mulan is the character that hosted the Lunar New Year in 2018. She will perform a processional that will travel from Pixar Pier to Paradise Garden Park. During the show, Mulan will be joined by a group of Disney characters, including Mushu, dancers, and drummers. As the procession makes its way, it will be decorated with lanterns, red balloons, and other festive decor.
Guests will also be able to purchase a Lunar New Year Tervis Tumbler, which features the same design as the women’s shirt. If they can’t find the tee in their size, they can buy a mug. Other merchandise will be inspired by different cultures in East Asia, including a set of Lunar New Year bobble-head figures, plus a special edition Minnie Mouse ear headband.
The first Lunar New Year Minnie ear headband will be available at the merchandise booth at the Disney California Adventure park, beginning January 21. You can also find the item at shopDisney and at Walt Disney World. A pair of Minnie ears is a great souvenir from the Lunar New Celebration 2021. They come with a tassel and bow, and are made of traditional red and gold fabric.
Fans can also get the Disney 2022 lunar new year duffy bear tiger hat from ShopDisney. The hat features Donald, Chip, Dale, and Minnie. Guests can also buy a Lunar New Year tumbler, which features all five Disney characters.
