On Wednesday, Vogue announced that co-chairs for this year’s Met Gala will be Emmy award-winning actress and screenwriter, Michaela Coel, four-time Academy Award nominee, Penelope Cruz, and former Olympic tennis great, Roger Federer. They join pop superstar Dua Lipa, who is a three-time Grammy winner and a Met Gala regular.
Puth’s musical life: The singer’s career started a few years ago, when he first posted music videos on YouTube. He eventually signed with a record label, eleveneleven, and was quickly able to become a pop sensation after his song “Attention” became a viral hit.
He has worked with some of the world’s most prominent artists, such as James Taylor and Lil Wayne. The New Jersey native has also collaborated with Elton John on a song, which he has called “After All.”
His debut album, Nine Track Mind, was released in January 2016. It features a mix of 50s-60s doo-wop and R&B with a little pop influence. Its first single, “Marvin Gaye,” featuring Meghan Trainor, was released in 2015 and has since gone platinum in the United States.
