Cara Cara, founded by three New York-based friends and fashion industry veterans Julia Brown, Sasha Martin, and Katie Hobbs in 2019, marries the excitement and optimism associated with vacation wear to stylish wardrobe pieces that can be worn year-round. Crafted in their signature crisper-than-crisp cotton poplin material with vintage prints that add charm to their romantic silhouettes to create chic comfort mixed with just enough romance for daily life.

Julia Workman Brown had spent 20 years designing for commercially successful contemporary brands and felt ready to explore something different. She set out to create a collection that represented both her personal aesthetic and lifestyle – working full time in the city while dreaming of weekend adventures – before meeting Sasha Martin, whom she had known since their son attended pre-K class together. They shared an enthusiasm for travel, adventure and the celebration of nature’s splendor. With more than 50 years of combined fashion, design, digital, and marketing expertise behind them, they joined forces to launch Cara Cara, an apparel line designed specifically to address what they saw as a void in fashion – providing real women with clothing inspired by their journeys with unique casual glamour styles.

With its tropical motif and relaxed silhouette, this Julia dress makes the ideal summer sundress. Featuring a flattering square neckline and slim criss cross back straps as well as tiered ruffled hem, its flowing design will look fantastic with leather jackets and strappy heels for your next vacation getaway!

Cara Cara’s founders took great pleasure in designing High Summer by immersing themselves in their world of fantasy travel fantasies to create High Summer, manifesting brighter times ahead after an exhausting year of collective darkness. They used precious vintage textiles ranging from the lush gardens of Blancaneaux in Belize to Honolulu’s pink stucco Royal Hawaiian in Joan Didion’s day and translated them into effortless silhouettes with romantic, feminine shapes for this joyful collection of dresses and separates to be worn anywhere and at anytime – creating something vibrant yet joyous that everyone can wear.
