Did Austin Butler Cheat on Vanessa Hudgens?
Vanessa Hudgens is one of the most iconic celebrities today. A former Disney star who became widely-recognized for her roles in High School Musical films and other notable TV series such as Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 and The Carrie Diaries, Vanessa has also begun dating actor Austin Butler (Aliens in the Attic / Ruby & the Rockits fame), dating for nearly nine years until their split up in January 2020.
Though their relationship was in disarray for most of its duration, things eventually came to an amicable conclusion and their separation. Both stars have since moved on; Hudgens is engaged to baseball player Cole Tucker and Butler is dating model Kaia Gerber; yet their split has spawned plenty of speculation, including claims that Butler may have cheated on Hudgens.
Butler revealed in 2021 during an interview that while they no longer romantically involved, they still maintained an important friendship and may reunite in the future, according to him. They have an “intense bond”, with which Butler believes there could be potential.
Fans quickly understood what he meant by this statement; many believed he was speaking about their friendship, specifically Hudgens and whether there was any chance they might reunite again.
Butler later addressed this matter in a May 2022 GQ interview, explaining that life can change rapidly and that “you must find ways to keep evolving and growing”. However, he didn’t address whether they had ever considered getting back together again.
Since his debut, Butler has continued his success in the entertainment industry. He landed leading roles on several TV series – Switched at Birth and MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles among them – before making his Broadway debut as Don Parritt in Denzel Washington’s revival of The Iceman Cometh in 2018. Additionally, California native Butler also holds film credits including Dude and Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood.
But even with all his success, Butler still seems vulnerable to cheating rumors.
