Are Adam Levine and Avril Lavigne Related?
As is widely known, Avril Lavigne is a Canadian singer-songwriter who rose to prominence with her debut multi-platinum album Let Go in 2002. Subsequent albums by Lavigne included Sk8er Boi and Complicated; Adam Levine leads Maroon 5, producing seven albums since their formation.
As both artists have achieved considerable success in their respective careers, many people have wondered whether or not they are related. Both share similar last names and their careers have overlapped to an extent; however, no connection was ever confirmed between the two artists.
Avril Lavigne, daughter of Judy and John Lavigne of Belleville in Ontario Canada was moved with her family when she was five to the town of Napanee about 40 miles east from Toronto. There are approximately 5,000 inhabitants there today.
Napanee District Secondary School in Ontario granted her her high school diploma. At sixteen, she went on to sign a record deal with Arista Records that produced Let Go; its debut album being an immediate hit which produced songs like Sk8er Boi and Complicated that remain popular today.
Avril has had numerous high-profile relationships throughout her career. Most recently, she was linked with oil heir Brandon Davis and was seen out public together. Additionally, Avril was linked with fellow singer Brody Jenner and even previously married Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley for one day!
Adam Levine is one of the founding members of Maroon 5, having received numerous awards for both his solo artistry and production/writing of films such as 2012’s Warrior. Additionally, Adam currently judges reality competition show The Voice as well as having four-year old daughter Dusty Rose with wife Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo.
He has made appearances on a range of television programs, such as Grey’s Anatomy and American Idol.
He is well-known for his tattoos and unique fashion sense. An avid supporter of LGBT rights, he is engaged in charity work in support of that cause. Additionally, he has spoken out against anti-Semitism as a strong opponent to Muslim bans in America and anti-Semitic acts in general. He carries Jewish blood from his father’s side, and has become an outspoken advocate against bullying campaigns. He serves on the boards of directors for both Trevor Project and CARE; additionally, he’s been active in supporting cancer awareness awareness initiatives. Atkinson is also an advocate for military members, visiting injured service members in Iraq and Afghanistan. He received both the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Global Citizen Award. Furthermore, he actively supports AIDS Foundation of America as well as working with children who require help. Lastly, he serves as a role model to his fans, making an impressionful first impression with all who meet him!
