She has an enchanting, friendly radiance, and it’s so easy to root for her. But her emotional range is equally broad, from a panic at the thought of having to be responsible for her adult life to her rapture as she selects clothing and makeup for her “grown-up” self — as if she were dressing up a doll!
Ultimately, it’s the way she handles all these emotions that makes her character so appealing. She doesn’t over-do them, she handles them gently and in a friendly manner, but she still gets the nuances right.
I liked this movie a lot, especially because of the way it dealt with growing up. It was a good reminder of how much things can change in just a few short years, and it taught me to appreciate the people around me a lot more than I had before.
It’s a cute and enjoyable movie, and I think it’s a great one for kids to watch. It will make them laugh, but it will also make them think about what they’ve done in their lives and how far they have come.
The Blu-ray disc of this movie is not particularly spectacular, and the picture quality doesn’t have a whole lot to recommend it. But the transfer is good and the audio mix is pleasant.
