Drew Carey’s eye is a mystery. There have been a few eye surgeries that Drew Carey has had in the past, including one in 2001. Since then, he has not had to have any eye surgery. Carey was a regular wearer of glasses and started wearing bifocal lenses at age 40. Even though his surgery was successful, Carey continued to wear glasses as people couldn’t recognize him otherwise.
In April 2021, he tweeted that he was “lost in grief” after the death of his ex-fiancee, Dr. Amie Harwick. They were engaged for approximately a year before they split in 2018. Amie was strangled to death before she fell from the second story of her Hollywood Hills home. Following the death of Amie, Drew Carey called for domestic violence laws to be changed to protect women.
Carey was also reading self-help books while he worked for the Marine Sanctuary in California. This altered his mindset and encouraged him to pursue stand-up comedy. He borrowed a joke book from the library and attended an open mic in Las Vegas. There, he blew up. He began performing for audiences. Carey made his breakthrough at the Sahara Desert open mic night.
While dating Harwick, Carey fell in love with the marriage and sex therapist. Their relationship lasted two years and they were married in 2017. Their relationship ended in June 2018, two years after they began dating. The two first met and fell in love quickly. Harwick has a background in marriage and sex therapy, and he also wrote a book, “The New Sex Bible for Women,” in 2014.
While the Psych show was successful in the beginning, the series eventually suffered from falling ratings and increasing production costs. Carey appeared in 233 episodes over its nine-year history. Among his many appearances on the show, he starred in “All About Lisa” in the second season of the hit comedy series. His most memorable performance was on The Tonight Show. Television executives were attracted to his appearance on The Tonight Show, where he was a stand-up comedian.
Although Drew is still single, he’s still very successful. Drew’s fame as a game-show host earned him a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star is located outside a military surplus shop. Carey is a comedian and also owns a Seattle soccer team. In addition to his fame on television, he salutes veterans on The Price is Right.
