UNCW Career Center
UNCW’s Career Center works with employers to set up campus interview days. The Career Center offers 3 interview rooms as well as the option to reserve a quiet space. The Career Center also offers guides called Handshake that walk you through the interview process. If you’re not sure how to use Handshake, contact the Career Center for help.
The Career Center’s mission is to empower students and alumni to build successful careers. It provides comprehensive career counseling, educational resources, as well as employer relations. It works closely with many employers, including government and corporate sectors, and strives to establish new relationships with them. It also serves the UNCW campus community as well as faculty and staff and the general public.
UNCW has implemented a new online career platform called Handshake. Handshake is used daily by more than 250,000 colleges and employers. It will replace SeaWork which was the university’s previous career platform. This new system allows the Career Center to better target information, employment opportunities, and events to students. Students can access information and tips from Handshake to help them transition to the new career management system.
UNC Wilmington Career Center strives for an inclusive and diverse environment for all students. This means that applicants of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, protected veterans, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply for available positions. However, individuals should exercise caution when applying for positions with organizations at off-campus locations. They should not visit residential addresses alone. The risk to your safety is too high for even the best job opportunity.
