Margaret Waltrip

Margaret Waltrip was born in 1852 in Searcy County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of John and Margaret C. Saffer. She later married John R. Waltrip on July 26, 1952. They had five children, including James and Mary Waltrip. In addition to those children, she also had eight great-grandchildren. She is buried in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.

The mother of Michael and Darrell Waltrip is the mother of five children and the grandmother of two retired NASCAR drivers. She passed away at the age of 90. Her sons, Bobby and Leroy, also died in their early seventies, after battling cancer for three years. They left a long legacy of sport racing and family-oriented television.
