Fatal Car Accident in New Orleans Yesterday

A fatal car accident in New Orleans yesterday claimed the lives of two Louisiana residents: a pickup truck driver and his passenger. Police are investigating the crash and will soon release a report. At least two other people were injured in the accident, and an 18-wheeler side-swiped another vehicle, causing a third to crash into the wreck. Fortunately, the 18-wheeler driver and the other driver are expected to recover.

The two vehicles involved in the fatal crash were both driving east on Hayne Boulevard. A male driver was driving the SUV and collided with a car with two occupants on the opposite side of the street. The male driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital but later died. The driver of the other vehicle was listed in stable condition but later died of his injuries.

The New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Section is investigating the fatal accident. The black BMW sedan struck a flood wall near Tchoupitoulas Street and came to rest on the grass. The driver who caused the accident is being sought by authorities. The victim was a 16-year-old male.
