Halloween is fast approaching and zombies will soon take to the streets (figuratively speaking). Halloween, the holiday that celebrates all things creepy and dark, is one of the most anticipated events each year – ghosts rise from graveyards, witches caw in the sky, skeletons appear at doorsteps across neighborhoods…but it can also provide plenty of terrifyingly fun family events!

This year’s Halloween festivities look set to feature plenty of haunted houses, creepy hikes and devilish drinks in New Jersey – perfect for scaring yourself silly or having some good fun. There’s sure to be something suited to everyone here this October 31.

There are plenty of spooky events this October that are suitable for the whole family, such as The Haunted Woods of Old Bridge which draws thousands each year; plus you’ll help support local Boy and Girl Scout and Cub Pack troops! Also check out Lauber’s Country Market Moonlight Corn Maze – it will surely draw in a crowd!

Other popular events in North Wildwood and Cape May County Park & Zoo Boo at the Zoo. Vineland also holds its annual Scare at the Vineyards event where you can participate in a ghost hunt to uncover what really happened here in history.

For an event tailored to adults, head over to The Landis Theater for Evil Dead the Musical at nighttime at The Landis Theatre. Based on the cult classic series featuring Bruce Campbell, this exciting stage version will surely delight horror fans of all ages.

Some municipalities are restricting trick-or-treating due to the COVID-19 pandemic; others are welcoming trick-or-treaters. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy declared that local communities could continue Halloween celebrations while emphasizing “special care” to ensure children do not come into danger by receiving candy with razor blades concealed inside it.

Roselanders who want to participate in Halloween must display a sign indicating they are offering treats on their front door or window, with a list of participating homes available online and signs available through Roseland Township website. Residents should adhere to state Department of Health guidelines for safe trick-or-treating.
