Underrated JDM Cars

The popularity of JDM cars created competition among the brands. The Toyota 86 is more impressive than the supra, but the Honda Prelude includes some elements of the Accord design. The Mitsubishi Eclipse was overshadowed in 2011 by the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. Mitsubishi stopped production of the sports car.

Acura Legend is another underrated JDM car. This car has been rebranded the Acura Legend as the 3.5RL, and is one of the most underrated. Although the 2.2L engine is powerful enough to do the job, it’s not as powerful as the Supra GTE. Nevertheless, this car’s engine is solid and can handle a turbo kit.

A variety of Japanese enthusiast vehicles are now making their way to North America thanks to the JDM (Japan Domestic Market). The 90s saw the birth of some of the world’s most iconic Japanese vehicles, including the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and Nissan Stagea 260RS. As a result, it’s no wonder that JDM has become a hotbed for unusual and innovative vehicles.

Japanese cars aren’t just for the rich, but they can be just as good as their European counterparts. They’re more affordable and offer just as much excitement. Even less-known Japanese models can be just as good as more well-known ones. You’ll be surprised at the quality of these underrated models.
