Tornado Warning – Yarmouth MA
If you’re in the Cape Cod area on Monday, there is an ominous weather event on the docks. While there have been several reports of wind gusts and a few downed trees, no injuries have been reported. The most notable thing to happen is that power has been cut off to some area residents and businesses. It is not expected that power will be restored to the entire area by early afternoon. On the flip side, a few lucky few are set to enjoy some nice weather while the rest of us are stuck inside. There will also be plenty of rain on tap through Wednesday morning. Thankfully, there are many smart and well-prepared people out there who know how to survive a downpour.
As for the actual rainfall, the good news is that the forecast is for only one round of thunderstorms. The best time to visit the Cape is during the daytime. A hurricane is a distinct possibility in the next few days. Fortunately, the folks in charge seem to be taking the requisite measures.
In the meantime, a low pressure system will be making its way over Nantucket. One more wave of the low will hit Cape Cod on Tuesday night. Luckily for those of us in the northeastern portion of Massachusetts, we have a few days to prepare. With the exception of those of us who grew up in the area, most of us aren’t used to such a thing.
