Simu Liu Chadwick Boseman

Is Simu Liu Ready to Take on Chadwick Boseman?

As a stuntman, writer, and actor, Simu Liu has plenty of experience to draw upon when he talks about his recent stint as Shang-Chi in Marvel’s latest blockbuster. The 2021 release is the next step in the MCU’s mission to explore the diversity of the Marvel universe. But before Simu makes his big screen debut, there are a few things you should know about the aforementioned aficionado. Firstly, there’s a reason he isn’t a household name. He’s had a couple of Oscar worthy performances in the past, including a supporting role in Blood and Water, and he’s been a staple on the stunt scene since the heyday of the big screen.

The big question is, is Simu Liu ready to take on Chadwick Boseman’s mantle? Although it’s a tough call, Simu appears to have taken his share of the accolades, and is in the process of proving his worth as a superhero movie star. For starters, he’s not a bad looking guy, and he’s certainly good at scrambling words. Not to mention that he’s also a nice guy. This isn’t a problem, because he has plenty of friends in high places, and he’s a jack of all trades, master of all.

The MCU is a great time to be a part of, and if you’re a fan of comic books, or are simply interested in what will be one of the most lucrative film franchises of all time, then it’s a smart idea to get on board. On top of that, the Marvel brand is one of the few studios that allows actors of all stripes to be cast, and as a result, there’s a lot of competition for a limited number of roles. Fortunately for fans of the MCU, it seems like Chadwick Boseman’s presence has given a leg up to a few lesser known players, which has the unintended effect of changing the complexion of the MCU. If you’re interested in a similar change of scenery, there’s still a place for you at Disney+, where you can watch She-Hulk, Kamala Khan, and Iman Vellani in action. Until then, you’ll have to settle for a few stale Iron Man and Thor flicks, but if you’re in the market for a fresh start, it’s a good bet he’ll be around for the long haul.

There are plenty of comic book movie sequels in the pipeline, and even more in the works, but one of the most anticipated releases in the MCU is Marvel’s Captain Marvel. While the film has been pushed back from its original October launch date, a November release is in the cards. Among other things, the Marvel movie is the first to feature a female lead, and in the comic book world, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a woman of color in a lead role.
