Five People Injured in a Shooting in East Liverpool, Ohio
The shooting in East Liverpool, Ohio left five people injured. The case has not been ruled dead, but is still under investigation. According to police investigators, a fight broke out at a nightclub and resulted in a shootout. Although the identities of the victims have not been disclosed, the police have an idea of who shot them.
Nelson Brownfield was visiting his brother George Bradford’s house in Akron when Della Brownfield was killed. She had been in town for a week, and Nelson wanted her to come back home. He fired several shots with a 32-caliber revolver, and then turned the gun on himself. A few days later, she was found dead.
Another shooting occurred July on the porch of a house in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Witnesses reported that shots had been fired from the street, but gave no other details. An ambulance arrived at the scene and the victims were taken to the city hospital. One woman in her 20s suffered a gunshot wound to her face.
After a search of the house, the police found a spent casing on the front porch. They also found a vehicle matching the description of a suspect. It was also reported that a gun battle had occurred outside the house. However, the victims would not reveal any information that could be important to the police.
In May, the murder of a former city man in Beaver County was also a major topic of conversation. Pasquale Fiesule was an Italian immigrant who was working for a traction company. His body was found on the railroad tracks near Walkers. The victim was in poor condition, but the doctors said the shooting may have triggered a fatal illness.
Two days after the Beaver County murder, the first of two murders occurred in East Liverpool. William M. Cain was discovered dead in a swamp near Leetoriia. There was a challenge by both sides of the evidence, but the preliminary panel was exhausted. During the trial, the defendant pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Two months after the Beaver County killing, another shooting in East Liverpool occurred. Pasquale Fiesule was found dead on the railroad tracks. While the police were investigating the incident, they received a tip that Davis was in the area. When they tracked him down, Davis pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to an indefinite term at Mansfield Reformatory.
Charles Hickman never lived in the city, but he was frequently seen in the area. The Pittsburgh Tribune had consistently described him as a former resident of the city.
Another victim in the shooting was John West, a laborer who worked for Burrows on a paving job. West had borrowed $1,000 from Burrows a few days earlier and was planning to pay it off. But then he found out that his employer was irritated that he was not on the job. At that point, he shot and wounded Guy Alexander.
A jury has been selected to hear the charges against Tyrell M. Travers, who faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted of the murder. Travers also faces charges of tampering with evidence and aggravated murder.
