At the Quincy Grand Prix, fans can look forward to an action-packed weekend of racing with two main events taking place both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, four ‘Pro’ categories will take place with a $10,000 cash purse on offer.

The Quincy Grand Prix has become an annual must-attend event, drawing over 300 drivers annually to the races. Many come from outside of the tri-state area and stay at local hotels and restaurants while enjoying their racing experience.

Bret Austin, marketing and merchandise assistant for the Quincy Grand Prix, reported that hundreds of racers and thousands of spectators descended upon South Park in Quincy this weekend. He added that these events bring in significant money for the local economy.

Austin said the Grand Prix typically draws around 15,000 to 20,000 people to the area, many of whom stay at local hotels and dine out. Though official crowd counts are never available, he noted that these figures include both spectators and participants in the race.

He noted that the Grand Prix attracts a diverse group of spectators and those who attend are usually satisfied with their experience. He expressed his pleasure at watching racing and expressed his joy at seeing it continue to expand.

Since 2018, South Park’s Grand Prix has made two returns – in 2018 with kart racing taking place on a track that once hosted an all-time record 625 participants, and then this June when it held its first race since 2020.
