Coverplay Makes It to the Next Season of Shark Tank

One of the most entertaining segments of Shark Tank has to be the pitch by Coverplay founders Alison Costa and Amy Feldman. The duo have created a washable slipcover that is also a washable liner. They have managed to snag an order from Target and have a contract with a hotel chain as well. Not to mention, they have two patents to their credit.

As with most businesses, there was a major challenge for the duo: how to secure funding to fulfill their order. Luckily, they were fortunate to find out about a show devoted to just that. This was where they presented a ten-minute pitch centered on their product and how they go about marketing it. They were even lucky enough to get an emo to help out.

Of course, there was a chance they were going to be passed over. However, the sharks have a knack for picking winners and one of the show’s judges stepped in to make them feel better. She dubbed the pair as a “power couple” and a “team of three.”

Aside from the fact that it was fun to watch, the opportunity to showcase their product was too good to pass up. After some back and forth, they received a lucrative deal from Target and were able to put their spin on the company. Their product is still available for sale on Amazon, and they have contracts with various hotels as well as cruise lines. It’s no surprise that they are slated for a slew of television exposure in the coming months.

Lastly, they are a fun pair to work with and have a lot of experience in the design industry. In fact, one of the company’s biggest clients is a former shoe designer who has been with the company since the beginning. They have a few wacky ideas in the works and are hoping to find the perfect investors to put them to the test. If their luck holds, there’s a good chance that they’ll be making their way onto the next season of Shark Tank.

With a track record to back up their claims of a successful start up, a healthy dose of luck, and a little savvy, the duo may be in the running for the coveted prize.
