Olivia Newton-John Gets a New Wax Figure
The world-famous singer Olivia Newton-John has a new wax figure. In addition to her many accomplishments in the music industry, she was also awarded with an Order of the British Empire. She is currently in the middle of a 45-show residency at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
As part of her promotion for her new show, Olivia posed with the wax figure. She is also wearing a glitzy burgundy top, black trousers, and a long black camisole. Her outfit may be a bit more glam than what the average person would wear to a show, but she managed to make it look like she had a lot of fun.
The actress is now taking her new figure on the road, traveling from Sydney to the United States. She posed with the “Grease”-inspired model at the Flamingo Hotel & casino.
For the event, a team of 20 London-based artists spent six months designing the model. It took a lot of effort to get the hair, tattoos, and other details just right. They even managed to capture the rapper’s 10-foot braided hair!
This is not the first time a star has received a wax figure. There are already 13 replicas of Michael Jackson on display at the Madame Tussauds in London. Other stars such as Lady Gaga, P!nk, and Taylor Swift have been recognized with similar statues. Even Britney Spears has been given a wax figure.
One of the most popular movie musicals of all time is Grease. The movie was a huge hit, and its cult status is still intact. As part of its celebration, Madame Tussauds Hollywood has commissioned a new wax figure of Olivia Newton-John as Sandy.
While the figure is not entirely accurate, it is a nice way to pay homage to one of the most successful movie musicals of all time. You can take a picture with the famous singer, and she is dressed up just the way she was in the movie. From the leather biker jacket, to the blinged out top, to the glittering diamonds, the look is very much reminiscent of the character. Eventually, the figure will move to the Hollywood museum, where it will be showcased alongside other celebrities.
Despite her tumultuous life, Olivia has become an international superstar, earning four Grammys and numerous other awards. During her career, she has sold more than 100 million albums and has scored 15 top 10 singles. With her Las Vegas show, Olivia continues to entertain fans with her signature catchy tunes. Hopefully, she can continue her success for a long time to come.
During her time in Las Vegas, the star had a few other fun things to do. She posed for a selfie with the figure. She also wore a carbon cut out on her body. The figure resembles the actress, but with a slight twist.
The aforementioned figure is a cleverly designed, impressively detailed, and certainly worthy of a visit. However, there are plenty of other celebrities who have done it better.
