New Edition Miami 2022

New Edition, a Boston-bred R&B group consisting of members Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill is in the middle of an extensive reunion tour. This marks their first performance together since 1997 at the American Music Awards.

In addition to performing, the five members have been busy with other projects and events. They were featured on UPN’s reality series R U the Girl and helped with an elimination challenge for TLC’s remaining finalists on R U the Boys. Furthermore, they performed a medley of their hits at BET’s 25th Anniversary Special.

The group has been actively promoting its new single, “Alright,” a remake of the timeless hit “Baby, I Love You.” Additionally, they’re working on a two-CD collection to commemorate their 30th anniversary next year – featuring an updated version of 1985 hit “Mr. Telephone Man” as well as other classic hits from throughout their illustrious career.

Since 1980, the group has sold more than 150 million records worldwide and consistently topped the US Billboard Hot 100 charts for twenty-one consecutive years – cementing themselves as one of the most successful American R&B groups ever.

They have performed extensively around the globe, appearing on many major TV networks and in films such as ‘Secondhand Lions’ (2001), ‘The Boys of Summer’ (1998) and ‘Grownman’ (1996).

Their hit songs include “Telephone Man,” “The Look of Love” and “Love on the Dance Floor,” which have been widely influential to various artists. Many credit them with helping to establish contemporary R&B as one of music’s major influences.

The group was an influential force in hip-hop music, having helped to pioneer its distinctive sound. They’ve performed with notable acts like Melle Mel, The Roots and N.E.R.D., while producing numerous hit songs alongside other acts like Melle Mel’s “Caught up in a Dream” and N.E.R.D.’s “Sweet, Sweet Baby.”

In 2022, The Culture Tour will embark upon its journey. Over thirty-five cities will be visited during their engagement.

On their tour, the group will perform a selection of songs from their extensive catalog as well as some of their most popular new material.

The show will also feature a performance by legendary R&B artist Charlie Wilson. He will showcase hits from his long and storied career, as well as new tracks.

The tour will be sponsored by Black Promoters Collective and feature a live band, percussionist, dancer, DJ and other performers. Tickets for the New Edition website can be purchased in advance.
