The Measuring Shovel Makes Gardening Easier and More Accurate
The Measuring Shovel is a unique and innovative gardening tool that makes the process of planting flowers and trees easier and more accurate. Unlike a regular shovel, it has a measuring scale built into the handle, which makes it easy to measure the depth and width of the hole. In addition, it features a yardstick on the blade for perfect spacing of plants.
Maddox Prichard invented The Measuring Shovel when he was just four years old. He developed the idea after helping his mom in the garden. Using a magic marker and duct tape, he was able to create a prototype of his invention in just a few hours. As a result of his work, he was awarded several awards, including first place in his grade level. His invention won him a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo. This led him to receive a sponsorship from Stanley Black & Decker, which sponsored him with an award for his achievement.
Aside from the monetary benefits, the Measuring Shovel was designed to make life simpler for the average gardener. When digging a hole, the entrepreneur wants to be able to easily measure the distance between plants. Previously, gardeners had to use a measuring tape or a standard shovel.
According to the inventor, the Measuring Shovel has a special design that offers users the ability to quickly and accurately measure the width and depth of a hole. It also features a yardstick that is engraved along the handle. Even though the product isn’t yet in production, the entrepreneur believes it could cost $10 to manufacture the first batch. But he hopes to have the shovel available for sale in the near future.
To get the business started, the inventor and his mother pitched their product to a panel of Sharks in the summer of 2019. They were given the opportunity to try the product and show them how it worked. On Sunday, the episode aired. Luckily for the Sharks, the Measuring Shovel proved to be a hit. The sharks agreed to give the Measuring Shovel a chance. One of them, Robert Buffet, was less than enthusiastic about the product, despite offering a $40,000 investment.
After receiving the investment, the family planned a viewing party. The company hasn’t reached a full-fledged production stage yet, but they do have a website and hope to land a licensing deal.
As the entrepreneur prepares to enter the production phase, he hopes to raise enough funds to build a manufacturing facility. However, he still needs help from an experienced entrepreneur. And he knows that the upper end of the price range is always a better product.
Although The Measuring Shovel isn’t in production, the Sharks agreed that they’d rather have it than a standard shovel. There aren’t many clients who have tested it, but it’s important to remember that it’s only a prototype, and it will be very interesting to see how well it does on the market.
