Maluma and Michelob Ultra Pure Gold Create Rumba (Puro Oro Anthem)
Latin music superstar Maluma and Michelob Ultra Pure Gold have joined forces to create the summer anthem song, Rumba (Puro Oro Anthem), as the beer celebrates its first-ever solar energy powered brewing.
Maluma has long been known for bringing a soulful Caribbean vibe to reggaeton music, and this collaboration is no different. Featuring the roaring sounds of the sun, the song pays a cheerful ode to our planet’s biggest star as well as Michelob’s sustainability milestone.
“Rumba” is available for streaming across all platforms and comes with a limited-edition gold vinyl record! Follow @MichelobULTRA and @Maluma on social media to enter to win!
Michelob and Maluma share a passion for the sun, so this collaboration was an obvious choice. On their new track, the Colombian singer joined MadMusick (Giencarlos Rivera and Jonathan Rivera) along with Edgar “Edge” Barrera to capture the warmth of the rays to create an upbeat feel-good song perfect for summer days.
Maluma stars in an ad campaign featuring tie-dye pants and a matching tee, showing off Michelob brand sustainability by using 100 percent renewable electricity generated from solar power. This initiative is part of Anheuser-Busch’s overall $100 million commitment to sustainability initiatives.
This is an excellent example of how brands can link pop culture to an environmentally friendly action that millennials will appreciate. By teaming up with a popular musician, the beer can effectively convey its message in an authentic manner and appeal to its global fans.
Additionally, the ad serves to coincide with Earth Day celebrations. The video, which premiered on YouTube yesterday, depicts Maluma dancing to “Rumba” while taking a sip from ULTRA Pure Gold.
Michelob has made history by brewing a beer using only 100 percent solar power, an impressive demonstration of their commitment to environmental sustainability and promotion of their organic beers. Additionally, this beer follows several marketing trends such as tie-dye and green technology.
