Mallory Ervin Opens Up About Her New Home

Mallory Ervin, a Nashville-based online influencer and podcaster who has an audience of over 800 thousand on Instagram, YouTube and her “Living Fully” podcast, shares what it took to break out of her own shell in her new book, Living Fully: Dare To Step Into Your Most Vibrant Life. She discusses the pitfalls of focusing on achievement and how to live a fuller, happier, and healthier life in her inspiring and honest book that’s destined to become a must-read for anyone who wants to live the best version of their lives.

Growing up in a small town in rural Kentucky, Ervin was the oldest of 23 first cousins. She sang at weddings, funerals and local events, and she started working with a vocal coach in her early teens. Then, at 11, she sang the national anthem for a sold-out NBA playoff game between the Houston Rockets and the Utah Jazz.

She was Miss Kentucky in 2009, and a fourth runner-up to Miss America in 2010. She also competed on The Amazing Race three times with her father, Gary Ervin.

As she worked more and more to build her brand, the stress of juggling a busy career, homelife and family made her increasingly dependent on prescription medication for comfort. She started taking Adderall, which was a stimulant, and Ambien, a sleeping pill. She would use them to keep her focused during her long, 12- to 14-hour workdays and to get a good night’s sleep.

After she started using prescriptions to help her cope, she found herself slipping into an addiction, and at the age of 28 she got help. Her parents helped her find a treatment facility, where she spent several months.

But she still had a hard time coming to terms with her problem. At one point, she said, she went to her family reunion, telling them about her drug problem and her plan for recovery.

Her aunts and uncles clapped, praised her for her determination and offered support. Then, after her treatment ended, she went back home and tried to rebuild her life.

She and her husband, Kyle DiMeola, have two boys: Shepherd, 3, and Ford, 4. They married in 2017.

Mallory’s new book and merchandise line are named after the phrase that has become her rallying cry, “Living Fully.” Her story teaches us that it doesn’t matter how successful we become or how much money we make, our lives can be fuller and more meaningful if we learn to live more authentically and embrace all the good things life has to offer.

It’s a lesson she learned in her own battle with adversity, but it can apply to anyone struggling to figure out their next move in life. With stories that range from the embarrassing (like her confession of her addiction) to the devastating (like her near death from a car accident), Living Fully is filled with real-life lessons on how to make life-changing changes that will have you feeling more satisfied and contented than ever before.
