Kyle Larson Wears a Hendrick Hat After Winning at Phoenix Raceway

Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports was recently rewarded for his hard work when he earned a victory at Phoenix Raceway. This is the first time a Hendrick Motorsports driver has won three consecutive races since Dale Earnhardt in 1987.

He was the youngest driver ever to win three consecutive races at the track, as well as being the first Hendrick teammate to accomplish that feat. This streak represents Hendrick’s longest win streak on 1.5-mile tracks in Cup history – it’s been over ten years since someone from His team won four consecutive races (excluding All-Star races which don’t count towards points scoring) at this iconic 1.5 mile circuit.

This victory was historic as it marked the first time a driver led 300 laps in one race in NASCAR history. Additionally, it marked Hendrick car’s third straight season winning three consecutive races.

On the fifth lap, his Hendrick hat was turned backward in honor of Ricky Hendrick, who tragically passed away 17 years ago at Kansas Speedway from a plane crash. Before the race, Hendrick had sent Larson a special message that he wanted him to lead on that final lap as an act of respect and remembrance for Ricky’s memory.

At the start of this season, Hendrick Motorsports signed Larson to drive full-time NASCAR and he’s been performing admirably. Through 18 races this season, Larson has five second-place finishes, eight Top 5s and 13 Top 10s.

Larson has also served as vice president of NASCAR Diversity and Inclusion, in addition to his racing career. As a certified trainer in sensitivity training, he has conducted numerous workshops for drivers, teams, and fans about diversity and inclusion.

After being banned from NASCAR for using the N-word in online racing during the racial slur pandemic, Larson was given another chance by Hendrick Motorsports and went on to win his first Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March 2021, eventually going on to secure the title in one of the most dominant seasons in series history.

Larson became the first driver in NASCAR history to win three consecutive races twice within a single season since Earnhardt. He also became only the eighth driver to ever win both an All-Star Race and Cup race within one calendar year.

Larson also boasts a stellar record at Kansas Speedway, winning his only race there in 2016. For Hendrick Motorsports, it marked an important milestone as it marked their first playoff race at the track and their second win on a 1.5-mile circuit.

Hendrick Hats are an ideal way to show your support for Hendrick Motorsports and its drivers. This hat features the Hendrick logo on the crown, along with Kyle Larson’s name, secondary sponsors, signature, signature number and car number. With its adjustable velcro closure system for comfort in most adults’ sizes, you’re sure to get a perfect fit every time!
