Jordan Stevens and the NBA
A slam dunk for the uninitiated, the Jordan Stevens has been around for a while, but it wasn’t until he was drafted into the NBA that the spotlight was finally cast. The 6’1″ point guard scored a pair of career highs in his freshman season, averaging 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. During the post-season, he played in two games, averaging 16 and 11 points, respectively. While in the AAC, he appeared in two of the conference’s five games. After the season, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers as an unrestricted free agent. He went on to play three games with the Clippers and one with the New Orleans Pelicans. One of his best games was a 41-point outing against the New Orleans Jazz. That particular win sparked a trade offer from the Clippers for Stevens. Although he was still on the outs by mid-February, the young forward is a solid candidate for the NBA’s next franchise.
For the most part, Stevens’ career has been a success. He’s averaged a stout 15.2 points per game and 6.7 rebounds over his first three seasons, while shooting a career high 65.7% from the field and 41% from three-point range. He’s also been a consistent defender, averaging a whopping 2.2 steals per game in the AAC.
