Jermaine Kruger Bailey of Brooklyn, New York

On Monday afternoon, Prosecutor Mike Ewenson announced the sentencing of Brooklyn man Jermaine Bailey (alias “Bird”) to nine years in prison for fatally shooting his former friend Jordan Moore over a $40 debt when Moore confronted him at a bar in Prospect on January 21, 2019. According to Prosecutor Ewenson, Bailey shot Moore when Moore confronted him about the debt at approximately 11:30 PM on that night.

In a victim impact statement read by Moore’s mother in court, she expressed her faith and offered forgiveness to Bailey. She encouraged him to seek help for his addictions and asked the judge to consider the “extraordinary generosity of forgiveness” offered by Moore’s mother. On Monday morning, Bailey pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the killing and received sentencing by Court of Queen’s Bench Judge Kim Nixon; during which Judge Nixon gave him three years credit for time already served and reminded him to stay out of trouble. Please leave a condolence message on Jermaine Bailey’s memorial page so we can pay our families one last tribute.
