Saturday Night Live’s host was an avid fan of Donnie Darko, a movie known for its time travel and captivating atmosphere. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the movie, Gyllenhaal shared on Instagram images of a battered binder filled with notes and artifacts from Donnie Darko.
Gyllenhaal shared the post with the caption, “Pulled out my script and some artifacts from Donnie Darko – released 20 years ago today.” It’s easy to see why Gyllenhaal loves this movie so much; it has an inspiring message and is one of cinema’s most stunning works of art.

Gyllenhaal also donned an endearing bunny sweater reminiscent of Donnie Darko from the 2001 film. This striped knit garment featured green and red color block panels, with a frilly gold bow in its center.
