Actress and former MMA fighter Gina Carano has been seen shopping on Wednesday afternoon. On her way to Big 5 Sporting Goods in Los Angeles to purchase athletic gear, the star of Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian stopped by the store for some retail therapy.

The 38-year-old actress was seen wearing a red long-sleeved shirt and red stocking cap as she went shopping. It’s unclear if these purchases were in response to an online firestorm that started when she posted a TikTok video comparing today’s divisive political climate to Nazi Germany.

She has denied that posting the controversial tweet destroyed her career, yet many fans still call for her dismissal from The Mandalorian. One Twitter user, @mastahskywolkah, tweeted that Carano’s remarks about Democrats “disgust me.” Additionally, she shared a tweet from Disney in support of standing against racism and giving more screen time to female characters on The Mandalorian.

Another supporter, @alderaansben, noted Carano’s “hate and violent extremist ideals align with white supremacists.” She further commented that Carano has had a negative influence on young women.”

Some fans have pointed to Carano’s comments about Jews as a reason for her actions. Some have compared her to a Holocaust survivor, while others claim she is part of a white nationalist movement.

Gina Carano is a former mixed martial artist who competed in Strikeforce and EliteXC competitions. In 2009, she retired from competition.

Her acting debut came with the 2011 Steven Soderbergh movie Haywire and she went on to appear in Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool.

She boasts a large social media following with over 480K followers. She is often tweeting and has been called out for her views regarding conspiracy theories, the Covid-19 pandemic and transgender rights.

On April 30, she shared a TikTok video drawing comparisons between the divided political climate in America and Nazi Germany. Though the video was quickly taken down from her account, it’s possible others still possess it and are resharing it.

Multiple users retweeted the post, including Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau. According to Entertainment Weekly, Favreau had been informed by Lucasfilm about Carano’s actions.
