Country singer Dolly Parton is known for her daring outfits covered in glitter and sequins, but the star doesn’t shy away from more subdued yet equally glamorous looks either. In fact, Parton famously donned an unadorned gown at her first wedding back in 1966!
She chose a simple white sleeveless dress for her intimate wedding ceremony with former actor Carl Dean in 1966, where they were joined by family members including her mother, preacher and bridegroom’s family as they exchanged vows in Ringgold, Georgia. At just 20 years old at the time, the star married the former actor at just 20 years old surrounded by loved ones including her parents, preacher and family members from both sides.
At the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards, Parton donned a shimmering jewel-tone, color-blocked blazer for her acceptance speech. This stylish ensemble perfectly showcased Parton’s signature “dollyized” aesthetic which she has used to express herself and her unique sense of humor.

She donned the same sleeveless dress for the cover of her first solo album, “Heartbreaker,” in 1978. The sheer chiffon skirt showed off her slim figure, and she accessorized with white pumps and matching gloves to complete the ensemble.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Parton addressed the rumors about her tattoos on her arms. She stressed that she didn’t want people making too much of them but did acknowledge having some butterfly designs on her hands.
