Dead Body Found in Minneapolis Today

Today, police in Minneapolis discovered the body of someone deceased and are searching for who committed the crime.

At 7:10 a.m., a body was discovered in a snowbank near Cedar Avenue south and East Lake Nokomis Parkway intersection. Minneapolis police are investigating this incident as possible hit-and-run and have yet to make an arrest. The investigation is ongoing with no charges filed thus far.

On Christmas Eve, a 20-year-old college student from Minnesota was reported missing after leaving a bar without wearing a jacket despite subzero temperatures. They had last been seen alive at Brian’s Bar in Stillwater and were last seen Saturday night.

In Rochester, a 20-year old male was discovered dead in a city park after reports of gunshot wounds. He had been identified as being from Rochester and found near an ice rink.

No one is being sought in connection with this case, and the man’s body will be sent to a medical examiner for autopsy. An investigation is ongoing between RPD and Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the cause of death.

On Monday evening, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office discovered a woman’s body in Cascade Township. Capt. James Schueller reported that deputies were dispatched to the location at 4:24 p.m. Once on scene, officers took her body from the ditch and transported it to an ambulance for further identification and treatment.

Investigation underway between multiple agencies, including Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. During their search, they recovered a cell phone as well as other items connected to the family.

Wednesday afternoon at the Ontario Coroners Service Office in Eden Prairie, an autopsy is expected to be completed and the body identified and released, according to Capt. James Schueller of the OCSO.

On Tuesday morning, a woman’s dog discovered the body of an unidentified 55-year-old from Aitkin on West River Road near River Bluff Lane NW. Although the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release her name, she is believed to be 55 and had gone missing in January. A missing alert has since been canceled by the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
