She has traveled to Capitol Hill on behalf of UCP and spoken at its annual fundraising galas. Furthermore, Hines has taken up poker – hosting a charity poker tournament that benefits UCP in her spare time!
Through her involvement with the United Cerebral Palsy Association, she has raised more than $1 million for the organization. Additionally, she visited members of Congress on behalf of CP and demanded Medicaid be protected against cuts that would negatively impact families living with CP.
She is a two-time Emmy nominee and member of the Screen Actors Guild, with extensive experience in directing and producing. Her most acclaimed work was the dark comedy Serious Moonlight.
Her most recent film is Cold Turkey, a Thanksgiving drama staring her and Peter Bogdanovich. Additionally, she’s set to star in Bad Moms’ Moms and About Fate, both scheduled for release in 2019.
On Season 11 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Cheryl Hines will guest star as Larry David’s long-suffering ex-wife Cheryl David. She is being trained by Larry to coach aspiring actress Maria Sophia (Maria Menounos). Her improvisational comedy style has been praised for its nuanced and inventive approach.
For years, the actor has been an advocate for cerebral palsy patients and raised money through celebrity poker tournaments. Additionally, she’s involved with the One Step Closer Foundation that raises funds to fund research and services related to CP.
She loves spending time with her family, including her pup Yakult. Additionally, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach and taking care of her home.
