Travis Scott’s HBCU Foundation and Astros have joined forces for the inaugural Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Classic to be held during college baseball’s opening weekend of 2023 at Minute Maid Park. This Classic will include Houston-area colleges Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M as well as schools from Louisiana and Mississippi – Grambling State, Jackson State, and Mississippi Valley State.

Scott and his foundation have joined forces with My Brother’s Keeper, a nonprofit founded by former President Barack Obama, to launch a fashion design program for high school students. This effort is part of Scott’s ongoing mission to raise money and provide scholarships for HBCU students.

Scott also hosted a toy drive this year for local children, providing thousands of toys to Houston families as a follow-up to his previous event at Astroworld last year.

TSU to get new stadium for baseball and softball

The Cactus Jack Foundation and the Astros have joined forces to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities, according to a press release. The foundation will invest $1 million into building a baseball and softball facility at Texas Southern University.

TSU, a four-year university in Houston that fields both teams, announced plans to build an entirely new stadium on campus for them.

Travis Scott and the Cactus Jack Foundation have joined forces with My Brother’s Keeper, an organization dedicated to rescuing neglected or abandoned animals. Since its founding, they have saved more than 200 dogs.

On February 16th, the Cactus Jack Foundation is hosting the second annual HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic. Proceeds from this event will benefit both the Cactus Jack Foundation and Waymon Netster HBCU Scholarship Fund. There will also be a raffle and silent auction held during the evening.
