A Body Is Found in the San Tan Valley

On Thursday morning in Escondido, CA a body was discovered along a road near a creek. The gender of the deceased has yet to be determined according to Sheriff’s Department officials.

Lt. Chris Steffen of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported finding a body wrapped in what appeared to be a tarp off a road near Harmony Grove Community in unincorporated Escondido.

The Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the discovery, which was reported around 7 a.m. It appears the deceased person passed away due to natural causes; however, an autopsy must still be conducted on them for confirmation.

On Highway 74 between Lake Elsinore and Perris, CA, another body was discovered burning inside a burning structure. The victim is believed to be female but investigators need identification.

A bicyclist discovered the body at Castaic on Wednesday morning near where Bryce Laspisa went missing from his family home in Laguna Niguel. Authorities believe the burned body to not belong to missing teen Bryce Laspisa and is unrelated to him.

On Friday, helicopters, airplanes, boats and walking teams from the surrounding area joined in on the search. Emergency personnel also did an early morning lake walk and dive at a different location on Saturday.

Karen Laspisa, Bryce’s mother, told City News Service her son was last seen on August 30 while driving from Northern California to Orange County. He called his parents at around 2 a.m. and informed them he would be pulling over; however, Bryce never returned.

She also mentioned her son’s SUV being stolen by burglars while he was searching for it; though this was an independent incident, it remains uncertain if it has anything to do with his disappearance.

On August 30th, a burned body was discovered near where Laspisa’s SUV vanished; however, authorities have yet to confirm if it is that of the missing teenager. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department placed a security hold on the deceased so they cannot release any information until after an autopsy has been conducted, according to sheriff’s detectives.

Authorities have yet to release any further information about the burnt body they discovered on Wednesday morning. It was located near Naperville Central high school student Bryce Laspisa’s family home in Laguna Niguel, Santa Clarita.

On Wednesday morning, the sheriff’s department did not confirm that the burned body found near Bryce Laspisa’s home in Laguna Niguel was not his SUV; however they are still actively investigating this possibility. Although no announcement had been made at press time regarding whether this body is connected to any missing teenager from Naperville Central High School.
