A Body Found in Cape Coral

Missing Adults in Cape Coral

Jeremiah Don Ballam Jr, 22, was last seen Sunday morning on SE 11th Place, and his friends and family became concerned after he did not return home and did not pick up their phone calls. His loved ones contacted Cape Coral police and told them they believed he was acting strangely. He did not appear to be in the same location when they arrived, so they issued a “Missing Endangered Adult” alert for him on Monday afternoon.

His car was found sitting in a canal near Vincennes Boulevard, but he was not visible when officers went to investigate on Tuesday. Officers blocked access to the Vincennes Boulevard bridge and called for a search warrant.

Detectives have since notified his family that he has been deceased for several days. His family said they believe he was trying to reach them when he got into trouble, and they think he may have been killed in the process.

Another missing adult in Cape Coral was found in a refrigerator Saturday, and police have arrested a teenage acquaintance for her murder. Annamarie Cruz Randazzo, 17, was last seen on July 21 when she dropped off her two friends after a night out at the movies.

She was a honor student at Cape Coral High School, and she had been dating a man from her neighborhood. She was also pregnant with his child, according to CCPD officials.

Remains from Hurricane Ian were found.16 miles from her residence on Tropical Shores Way, Sheriff Carmine Marceno says at a press conference Thursday. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has not released her name, but she was one of two people still missing from the disaster that devastated Cape Coral and its surrounding islands.

The rest of the family is in shock and has no idea how she died, Marceno says. The woman’s husband was found in the same area.
