Ben And Jerry’s Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie

Ben and Jerry’s Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie Ice Cream

Ben and Jerry’s latest creation is an intriguing blend of sweet cream, buttery brown sugar in an oatmeal cookie swirl. Called The Oat of this Swirled, it should not be missed by fans of oatmeal cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and trips to the ice cream shop.

The ice cream itself is quite tasty for an unsweetened treat, boasting a smooth consistency despite the amount of milk used. It has just the right balance of sweet and salty to counteract its substantial dose of dark chocolate in its core. While not particularly memorable on the palate, further refinement would likely bring out its true potential.

The oatmeal cookie and fudge swirls give this ice cream a unique flair, though I personally find them too sweet for my liking.

Luckily, it comes in a pint size so you can enjoy it at any time of day!

Although using the microwave for this recipe can be a bit of a shortcut, I highly recommend it since it’s less finicky than using the stovetop method and you’ll still have an enjoyable treat in about 20 minutes! Additionally, I tried baking them in the oven as well, but found it wasn’t quite as successful.

This recipe is from The King Arthur Flour’s Cookie Companion and I halved the dough to add raisins to one half and chocolate chips to the other. As pictured, these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are from a classic oats & cornbread book; you could easily switch out cornflakes for chopped up graham crackers or even some mini chocolate chunks!
